About<\/strong><\/p>\n Michael graduated Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, minoring in Electrical Engineering. During his undergraduate career he got involved in many student-run activities including but not limited to: student government, SAE Mini Baja, IGVC, and (tangentially) the AICHE Chem-E Car competition. At Georgia Institute of Technology he honed his skills in mathematics and control theory, resulting in his dissertation: “Stabilization of Mobile Manipulators.” In it, he provides a framework through which one can leverage posture-dependent passivity to apply simple task-space feedback control to flexible-base robots.<\/p>\n Academically, he is passionate about control theory and robotics, but he has also managed to lead a rich life outside of his studies.
